Purpose of the Run

Feed seniors:
Access to nutritious meals remains a significant challenge for seniors and their households in vulnerable communities. Through our seniors’ feeding program, we have provided meals to over 2,000 seniors, impacting more than 5,000 household members in their care. Your support is vital to help us continue making this difference.
Provide medical Care:
As we age, health challenges become inevitable, and for seniors struggling to afford even basic necessities like food, accessing healthcare can be an overwhelming hurdle. Our seniors’ health program aims to bridge this gap by providing the comprehensive, multidisciplinary care they need. Your partnership plays a crucial role in making this support possible.
MIC Community Center:
The Seniors Community Center will be a nurturing environment where elders can receive care, support, and a true sense of belonging. Our mission is to enhance their well-being and dignity while fostering connection and community. With your support, this center will become a place where seniors feel valued, cared for, and never alone.

Community Water Project
Through our engagement with the communities we work with, we identified water scarcity as a significant challenge affecting them.
To address this challenge, we intervened and provided water to the village of Esimit and Matabithi in Isiolo County.
HealthCare
We organized free medical camps from 2016-2025 for senior citizens in Isiolo County to alleviate health complaints and find out the prevalent disease among this population.
Housing
Mama Ibado Charity, in partnership with its main donor, The Monk Foundation, launched the Roof over My Head project, funding the construction of 85 housing units with washrooms. This initiative provided safe shelter for 85 needy seniors and their families.
Seniors Feeding
This is our flagship program that was initiated in 2011 with 50 beneficiaries aimed at mitigating hunger and poverty among senior citizens.
To date, we support 1000 beneficiaries: 700 from Isiolo and 300 from Kakamega with monthly food hampers

Anyone! Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a walker, or a group looking to bond, there’s a place for you.
2. How do I register?
Register for the race within this page and take a step towards transforming lives. Registration is CAD 50 only; this secures a T-shirt for the Run.

3. How will I know that my registration is successful?
Once you make payment you will be registered for the Run
4. Where will the funds go?
All proceeds support seniors’ feeding and healthcare programs through Mama Ibado Charity.
5. Will there be prizes?
Yes! Top runners in each category will receive a prize. However we believe all participants are winners to our seniors.
