Born in 1947 in Garbatulla, Abduba Boru grew up as one of nine siblings in a family deeply affected by tragedy. At just six years old, his family and clan were forcibly relocated to concentration camps by the government. It was during this harrowing period that his mother succumbed to illness. Orphaned and impoverished, Abduba spent his childhood herding their meager livestock, navigating a life of hardship.
Years later, after bandits stole the family’s remaining livestock, Abduba moved to Isiolo Town. With no formal education or skills, he eked out a living through casual labor.
