Adow Adan Abshiro

Adow, born in 1946 in Mandera, was raised in the Bula Pesa area of Isiolo. He lost his parents at a very young age and grew up in a pastoralist family, where herding camels was his main responsibility. Unfortunately, Adow never had the opportunity to attend school.

At the age of 38, Adow married and was blessed with twelve children. Tragically, five of them passed away, leaving him with seven surviving children. Despite the financial challenges, Adow made every effort to educate his children up to class 8 (primary school level), but he could not afford to send them to secondary school.

When inter-clan conflicts erupted in the region, Adow lost all his livestock to bandits, leaving him with no means of support. Determined to survive, he began herding other people's livestock for a living. However, over time, his health began to deteriorate, and he was diagnosed with hypertension. Unable to continue his work as a herder, Adow returned home to seek medical treatment.

With seven surviving children, Adow still faces extreme hardship, as none of them are employed or able to support him. Life became increasingly difficult until he came into contact with Mama Ibado Charity. The charity enrolled Adow in their Seniors Feeding and Health Programs, offering him vital support and relief during his time of need.
