Amuria Ekindori Susan’s life is a tale of love, resilience, and enduring challenges. Born and raised in Isiolo, Susan fell deeply in love in her youth, but her journey to happiness was fraught with obstacles. When her parents demanded an exorbitant dowry for her marriage, the young couple, driven by unwavering love, decided to elope to Meru County. Leaving behind the Turkana way of pastoralism, they embraced a new life rooted in farming, determined to build a future together.

After some time, Susan’s brother-in-law arrived with news that her parents had forgiven her and welcomed her back. To mend the strained relationship, her husband offered two cows as a peace gesture, and the couple returned to Isiolo to continue their agrarian lifestyle and raise a family.

Over the years, Susan’s family grew, but not without hardship. One of her daughters tragically passed away, leaving behind children abandoned by their father. Susan’s husband, steadfast in his commitment to family, took on the responsibility of raising the grandchildren, ensuring they had a sense of security and love.

Now elderly, Susan and her husband face new challenges. With limited resources and increasing health concerns, providing for their growing household has become a daunting task. Despite these hardships, their enduring love keeps them close, spending time with each other daily and sharing precious moments together.
