Balafu Gowa Halake, a devoted mother, spent much of her life caring for her family in Isiolo County. After losing her husband, she was left alone to raise her children in the face of overwhelming hardship. Her son, Adan Ngonjobe, recalls those trying days: “We were struggling with life. My mom would go to neighbors to ask for help just to get by.”
Despite her tireless efforts, life remained a constant struggle. She had no steady income and no means to fully provide for her children. Selling small items and relying on the goodwill of others was never enough, and the family often faced hunger and uncertainty.
