Edin Osman

Edin Osman has lived a life marked by resilience and adaptation. Born in Garba Tula, Isiolo South, Edin’s early years were deeply rooted in pastoralism. As the firstborn among six siblings, he spent his childhood herding livestock, a way of life that provided his family with stability and sustenance. However, the demands of this lifestyle meant that Edin never had the opportunity to attend school.

As a young man, Edin sought new opportunities, moving to Isiolo during the colonial era. At just 15, he married and later became a father to seven children, though tragically, one of them passed away. Determined to provide a better future for his family, he relocated to Naivasha, where he worked on a farm to support his children’s education. Through immense sacrifice, some of his children reached class 8, while others completed form 4. However, they struggled to secure employment, leaving the family in a cycle of financial hardship.

After losing his job, Edin and his family returned to Isiolo and settled in Ola Odha village. However, their stability was short-lived. Inter-clan conflicts erupted in the region, forcing them to flee for safety. In the process, they lost their livestock—the foundation of their livelihood. Stripped of their resources, Edin and his family had to start over in Ola Jarole area, where survival became a daily battle.

Now Edin faces the compounded challenges of aging and providing for his family. Despite his unyielding spirit, the burden was overwhelming—until he found Mama Ibado Charity. For the past four years, he has been a beneficiary of their Seniors Feeding Program, receiving regular food rations that have eased his struggles. Beyond nourishment, the charity has also provided essential medical support, ensuring he maintains his health in his advanced years.

Edin is deeply grateful for the assistance he has received, but the journey does not end here. He still needs your support. With no other means to sustain himself, Edin relies on the kindness of well-wishers to continue living with dignity.
