Halima Awoi grew up in Isiolo County, a woman of resilience and quiet strength. For years, she lived on her land in the Shambani area, raising her children and tending to her home with determination and care. Life had its challenges, but she faced them with courage, knowing that her hard work would provide for her family.

Then everything changed. During a community conflict, Halima lost her land—her home, her security, her sense of stability, all taken away in an instant. Overnight, life became a daily struggle. Food was scarce, shelter uncertain, and every day felt like a fight for survival. Her children, now grown, could not provide enough support, leaving Halima to face these hardships largely alone.

“I had nowhere to go, and I did not know how I would survive,” Halima recalls, her voice tinged with the memory of those dark days. “Even getting a simple meal became a challenge.”

It was in this season of despair that Mama Ibado Charity reached out. Their team visited Halima’s home, listened to her story, and enrolled her as a beneficiary. From that moment, a new chapter began—one filled with nourishment, care, and hope. Today, Halima receives monthly supplies of wheat flour, maize flour, rice, milk, cooking oil, sugar, tea leaves, porridge, and other essentials. “The food from Mama Ibado Charity really helps me,” she says, smiling. “Every time I pray, I thank God for this blessing. I am truly grateful.”

Beyond filling her stomach, the charity has restored her dignity. Halima no longer wakes up worried about where her next meal will come from. She can focus on the simple joys of life, spending time with loved ones, tending to her home, and walking through her neighborhood with renewed strength.
