For Idris Salim, life has been shaped by quiet resilience and a determination to provide for his family despite limited opportunities. Having left school after Class 4, Idris grew up with few opportunities for formal employment. Today, as a husband and father of seven children, he relies on his tailoring skills to earn a living, sewing clothes to support his household. While tailoring provides an important source of income, the earnings can be unpredictable and often make it difficult to meet the needs of a large family.

The challenge is compounded by the circumstances facing his grown children. None has been able to secure stable formal employment, leaving them dependent on casual labor and occasional jobs to earn a living. For Idris, this has meant carrying the responsibility of supporting his family in circumstances where financial stability is difficult to maintain. Meeting everyday needs, particularly food and healthcare, was once a constant source of worry.

His circumstances began to change after he connected with the support provided by Mama Ibado Charity. Through the program, Idris and his household receive essential food supplies, including rice, milk, sugar, cooking oil, and flour. This assistance has eased the pressure of providing food for his family and provided a greater sense of stability in his household.

The support also extends to healthcare. Idris is able to access medical treatment through the charity’s clinic whenever he needs it, ensuring that his health needs can be addressed without placing an additional financial burden on his family.

Reflecting on the difference the support has made over the years, Idris expresses deep gratitude. "It has helped me for a very long time, right up until this moment," Idris shares. "For all the time I have received this support, I thank Almighty God for Mama Ibado. May God keep her safe wherever she is."

Today, Idris continues to earn a living through his tailoring; using a skill he has relied on for years to provide for his family. With some of the pressure surrounding his household’s essential needs and healthcare eased, he is able to focus more fully on his work and continue caring for those who depend on him.

For Idris, the support has been more than assistance with food and healthcare. It has brought a measure of stability to a family that has spent years navigating uncertainty, allowing him to continue working, providing, and looking toward the future with greater peace of mind.
