Jane Imali Kagonza

Born in 1962 in Vihiga, Jane Imali's early life was marked by struggle. Her formal education ended in Class 7 because her mother, despite laboring tirelessly cultivating on others' farms, could not afford the school fees. Following this abrupt end to her schooling, Jane's youth was consumed by domestic chores and manual labor, often leaving her and her family hungry.

Jane married in Maragoli, Vihiga. Her husband provided for the family through manual jobs, tilling land on people's farms. They were blessed with three children, but their son unfortunately passed away. After only about six years of marriage, her husband also died, leaving Jane to raise their two young daughters alone.

Life as a widow became exceedingly difficult. Seeking better opportunities, Jane moved to the Jua Kali (informal sector) area in Kakamega. Providing food for her children became a constant, desperate challenge. 

Jane took on casual work, farming and washing clothes for others, but the income was always insufficient. She even tried starting a market business, but after using the initial capital to cover urgent household needs, she went bankrupt and could not restock. Today, her two daughters, also facing instability in their own marriages, are unable to offer her stable help.

When the strain of survival became overwhelming, a friend introduced Jane to Mama Ibado Charity (MIC).

Since connecting with Mama Ibado, Jane has received essential aid that sustains her family. She is provided with key food supplies, including four packets of flour, one kilo of sugar, rice, porridge, salt, and tea leaves.

Beyond critical food security, Jane is immensely benefiting from Mama Ibado's health assistance. She was diagnosed with high blood pressure (BP) and receives continuous medical treatment, which successfully manages her condition and brings her BP down. She visits the clinic every Thursday for check-ups and medication.

Jane expresses profound gratitude: "I thank Mama Ibado very much for giving me that BP treatment. I pray that God continues to bless her greatly and that she continues to do the same for others."
Jane urgently needs continued support to manage her BP and ensure food security for herself and her family, as she is the primary caregiver for her two daughters and six grandchildren, who are all struggling.
