JOYCE NCULUBI AM IMANA

Joyce Nculubi’s life is a story of resilience shaped by deep loss, hardship, and the kindness of others in moments of need. When she came to Isiolo, life was already heavy with grief. She had just lost her son who was living in Nanyuki, and not long after, tragedy struck again when she lost another son in a violent incident. These losses left her devastated, carrying both emotional pain and the burden of survival.

At the time, Joyce was working for another lady, trying to support herself and her children. She was raising three children and doing her best to provide for them despite the overwhelming circumstances. It was during this period of hardship that she received the heartbreaking news about her son, a moment that deepened her struggles even further.

Seeing her situation, her employer showed compassion and asked if she had somewhere to stay. At the time, it was during the El Niño season, and conditions were harsh. Joyce had nowhere to go. Moved by her situation, her employer offered her a house to stay in and even provided a bed for her children. What began as a place of refuge slowly became a home for Joyce and her family. Despite everything, Joyce remained determined. She made sure her children continued going to school, doing everything within her power to care for them and give them a better future.

Her life took a hopeful turn when she heard about Mama Ibado Charity and the support they provide to seniors. With hope, she went to their offices to ask for help and was accepted as a beneficiary. From that moment, her life began to change. She now receives monthly food support, including maize flour and cooking oil, which was recently increased to two litres. She also benefits from medical support through the weekly clinic. Today, Joyce says the support has made a real difference in her life. Her food now lasts until the next month, bringing her a sense of stability she once lacked. She expresses deep gratitude, saying she is very grateful and happy for the support she receives.

She gives thanks for the compassion shown to her and prays that God blesses Mama Ibado Charity and their supporters for their dedication to helping seniors. She also prays for the children who have continued their mother’s work of supporting the elderly, asking that God bless them abundantly.
