Julia Kanyua’s life is a story of endurance, shaped by loss, hardship, and the quiet strength that comes from refusing to give up. Born and raised in Meru, she grew up in a community where family and resilience were everything. Her early years were simple, but the rhythms of daily life were suddenly disrupted when tragedy entered her home. She married and began raising a family, building a life full of hope—but that hope was cut short when her husband passed away, leaving her with no place to stay and the weight of uncertainty pressing heavily on her shoulders.

With courage born from necessity, Julia left Meru and made her way to Isiolo, hoping to start anew. The first days were daunting; she faced the challenge of survival alone, with no home and limited resources. Yet even in the harshest moments, she held onto faith and determination.

Then, a small light appeared. A relative had acquired a plot of land, and out of compassion for Julia’s situation, they allowed her to live there. With their permission, she built a modest house—a small sanctuary that became the foundation of her new life. Despite this stability, life continued to demand every ounce of her effort. Julia worked tirelessly to make ends meet, taking on whatever work she could find to survive. Every day was a battle, and every meal earned was a victory.

Her life began to transform when she learned about Mama Ibado Charity and the support they offer to seniors. With hope in her heart, she went to their offices and asked for help. Fortunately, she was accepted as a beneficiary. From that moment, her life began to change. She started receiving monthly food support and access to medication at the weekly clinic—lifelines that brought relief, security, and a renewed sense of hope.

Today, Julia speaks with gratitude and humility. “I am grateful to God,” she says, “and I pray that He blesses Mama Ibado Charity and allows them to continue helping more seniors like me.” The support she receives not only nourishes her body but also restores her spirit, reminding her that she is not alone in her journey.
