Kule Diba

Born in Sololo, Marsabit County, Kula’s childhood was spent tending to her father’s livestock, a responsibility that left her with little time for anything else. At just 12 years old, she was married off, and her husband moved her to Isiolo South, where they began their life together. Over the years, she gave birth to six children, but only three survived.
During the Kenyatta regime, Kula and her family were relocated to Kambi Odha in Isiolo North. Life remained simple but stable, as she and her husband raised their children while herding their small number of livestock. However, tragedy struck when all their animals were stolen, stripping them of their only source of livelihood. Left with no choice, they began begging for food to survive.

The struggles intensified when her husband fell ill and passed away, leaving Kula alone to support their children. None of them had received an education, and with no employment opportunities, the cycle of hardship continued.
Now, as old age and frailty set in, Kula remains without any stable support system. It was during this difficult time that Mama Ibado Charity (MIC) found her. Seeing her vulnerability, she was enrolled in the seniors' feeding program, ensuring that she no longer had to struggle for her next meal.

Though life has been unforgiving, Kula’s spirit endures. She continues to navigate the challenges of aging with quiet strength, proving that even in the harshest of circumstances, resilience can carry us forward.
