MISE ENIRIETTA KHAHOMBI

Mise Enirietta Khaombi was born in 1957 in Ikolomani, Kakamega County, and grew up in a large household as one of seven children.

During her childhood, she never had the opportunity to attend school, spending her early years instead at home assisting her mother with domestic chores. After this period of her youth, she eventually married a driver who frequently traveled the route between Kakamega and Nairobi.

Together they had five children, but their lives changed for the worse when her husband died in a road accident. Following his death, Khaombi was left to raise their five children alone.

Although the children managed to attend school up to Class 8, they could not go any further because she lacked the money to pay for their education. Consequently, they stayed at home to help with chores before growing up.

Today, her daughters are married and her sons try to find work mending footballs, but they are unable to support her as they have their own family duties to handle. This left Mise Enirietta Khaombi in a very difficult situation where she had to force herself to do heavy work, digging in other people's farms just to get a meal.

Life was very tough, and on many days when there was no work, she would go to sleep hungry. This struggle continued until a visitor noticed her problems and introduced her to the Mama Ibado Charity. Since joining the program, her life has improved a lot because she now receives food supplies like flour, oil, milk, and sugar.

Khaombi is very thankful to Mama Ibado and prays for God to protect the organization so they can keep helping others. She still needs help because she is now old and cannot do farm work anymore, and her children do not have stable jobs to provide for her daily needs.
