Maria Mpeleo Letupukwa was born in a pastoralist family, where life revolved around cattle and sheep. From a young age, she learned to care for the livestock, which provided both food and livelihood for the family. Life was simple but secure; even the rain was enough to sustain the animals, and milk and food were always available. These early years were marked by stability and routine, and the family’s livestock represented both wealth and a sense of safety.
