Munene Mboroki

Munene Mboroki was born and raised in Isiolo, a place he has always called home. In his younger years, he worked with the Ministry of Works, a job that gave him stability and a sense of purpose. But in 1980, everything changed. Munene, along with many others, was laid off, leaving him without a source of income. Life became uncertain, and he had to find new ways to survive.

Determined to keep moving forward, Munene bought a piece of land where he now lives. There, he began rebuilding his life, hoping to create a safe and stable home. But as the years passed, age and circumstance made it increasingly difficult for him to work. The demands of finding a living became impossible, and simple necessities like food and healthcare were no longer easy to secure.

It was during this challenging season that Munene met Mama Ibado Charity. The organization visited his home, assessed his situation, and welcomed him as a beneficiary.  From that day, his life began to change.
Every month, Munene receives food rations that include milk, porridge, and other essential items. These supplies ensure he doesn’t have to worry about where his next meal will come from. “The food keeps me strong,” he says, “and gives me hope every day.”

But it’s not just the food that has made a difference. Whenever Munene feels unwell, he goes to the weekly clinic at Mama Ibado Charity’s offices. There, he receives medical attention and medication. Regular check-ups and care have helped him manage his health, giving him peace of mind and the confidence to live independently despite his age.
