ROBEYO EKITALA EPODO

Robeyo Ekitela was born into a hardworking family and grew up understanding the value of perseverance. He spent most of his adult life working with the Kenya Wildlife Service, traveling to many areas across the country to provide for his family. After years of service, he retired a long time ago when his daughter, Khadija, was still young. For a short period, he worked as a watchman, but eventually returned home to Isiolo.

As the years went by, Robeyo grew older and eventually became bedridden, unable to work and care for himself fully. His family, including his daughter Khadija, his disabled daughter, and other dependents, had to step in to support him. Despite the challenges, Robeyo remained a pillar of his family, and his household continued to manage life as best they could.

Tragedy has touched the family in many ways. Robeyo lost his wife years ago, and his elder daughter, who had been the breadwinner, also passed away. Following these losses, Khadija became the primary provider, caring for her father and siblings while ensuring the family had enough to eat. Life was difficult and unpredictable, with every day presenting new challenges. Robeyo’s bedridden state made it hard for the family to manage on their own, and food security was a constant concern.

Everything began to change when the family learned about Mama Ibado Charity’s feeding program. One day, while in town, Khadija heard about the program and was guided to the charity’s offices. Soon after, a team from Mama Ibado Charity visited their home, met Robeyo, and assessed his situation. From that day forward, Robeyo became a beneficiary of the food support program.

The impact of this support has been profound. The regular food provisions ensure that Robeyo, his disabled daughter, and the rest of the household have consistent meals. This support has eased the daily burden of survival, allowing the family to focus on other basic needs, like vegetables and household essentials.

Robeyo and his family are deeply grateful for the assistance. The support has brought stability, nourishment, and hope into their lives, allowing them to live with dignity despite the hardships they have faced.
