SUSAN NAKURINYANG

Susan Nakorodi Nakurinyang is a mother from Isiolo whose life has been marked by perseverance through hardship and the enduring love for her family. Years ago, a motorcycle accident left her with a broken leg, a painful injury that made walking difficult and, over time, left her increasingly dependent on others for even the simplest tasks. The accident compounded the challenges she and her family were already facing.

Before joining Mama Ibado Charity, life was extremely difficult. Her son, Richard Kaporia, recalls the days of struggle: sometimes he would go out hustling to make ends meet, only to return with nothing, leaving the family to sleep hungry. When there was even a small amount of money, they would buy flour to make porridge, a humble meal that could barely fill empty stomachs. Life was a constant battle of survival, and every day came with uncertainty and worry.

Susan’s story is also one of dedication and sacrifice. In her younger years, she worked tirelessly to raise her children, taking on small jobs wherever she could find them. But as she aged, the combination of her accident, declining health and the natural toll of life made it impossible for her to continue working.

A turning point in Susan’s life came when the team from Mama Ibado Charity visited her home. Seeing her difficult situation, they enrolled her as a beneficiary, opening a door to support, care, and hope. Since then, Susan has received regular food support, which has brought stability to her home and nourishment to her family. The charity even recently increased rations of cooking oil and sugar, further easing her daily life.

Her son Richard shares the deep impact of this support: “Since my mother became a beneficiary, life has changed for the better. I now cook the food we receive for her, and for the first time in years, we feel secure and cared for. We are so grateful to Mama Ibado Charity. May God bless them and increase their capacity to help even more seniors.”

Today, Susan’s life, though still marked by the challenges of age and health, is brighter because of the compassion and generosity of Mama Ibado Charity. Their support has allowed her to live with dignity, comfort, and hope, transforming the simple acts of daily life—having enough to eat, receiving care, and feeling remembered—into something truly priceless.
