THIRIGUA FLORA

Born in Meru County in 1958, Flora has lived a life marked by resilience, perseverance, and quiet strength. Her journey reflects the reality faced by many families striving to survive in harsh conditions, holding on to hope even in the most difficult seasons. Flora grew up in Meru and later got married in 1978, beginning a new chapter of her life. After some time, she and her husband moved to Isiolo County, where they settled and turned to farming as their main source of livelihood. Like many others, they depended on the land to provide for their family.

However, life on the farm was not easy. Despite working long hours, there were many seasons when their efforts yielded nothing. The uncertainty of farming made survival difficult, and at times, they were left without enough to sustain themselves. Even today, farming remains unpredictable, with results that do not always meet their needs. In order to survive, Flora and her family turned to selling firewood, doing whatever they could to make ends meet. Life was a constant struggle, marked by hardship and resilience.

Hope came when a team from Mama Ibado Charity visited their home and enrolled her husband as a beneficiary. Through the program, the family began receiving food support, which brought much-needed relief and stability to their lives. Tragically, Flora later lost her husband, a loss that deeply affected her life and circumstances. Despite this, the support did not stop. Flora was enrolled as a beneficiary, ensuring that she could continue receiving assistance during such a difficult time.

Today, Flora receives monthly food supplies, including rice, maize flour, wheat flour, cooking oil, sugar, tea leaves, and other essential items. This support has helped her meet her daily needs and sustain her household. Filled with gratitude, Flora expresses her heartfelt appreciation. She is deeply thankful for the monthly food support she receives, acknowledging the difference it has made in her life. She also gives thanks to God for His faithfulness and provision. “May God continue to bless Mama Ibado Charity for their support,” she says. Through continued support, more individuals like her can find hope, dignity, and the strength to keep going.
