Born and raised in Moyale, at a time when conflict was intense along the Kenya-Ethiopia border, Ware lived through the harrowing chaos of a violent ethnic and religious conflict. Just after welcoming her fifth child into the world, a brutal war erupted between the Muslim Somalis and Christian Boranas.
