Zakayo Zainabu Mmwamu

Zainab Zakayo Mwamu was born on November 8, 1958, in the Hamisi region of Vihiga County. She is married but has no biological children. Instead, she lives with and cares for three adopted children.

Zainab's formal schooling ended after only the third grade. Her parents simply couldn't afford to send her to school.

Instead of attending school, she stayed home and helped with small-scale farming. If her parents gave her bananas or potatoes, she would sell them to earn a little money. Life was simple, and they did what they could to survive.

Even after marriage, life remained difficult. To make a living and get food, she sells tomatoes. As she explains, "If they are available, we continue selling when there are plenty, and that's how we get money to pay for them."

However, when prices go up or tomatoes become scarce, she's forced to stay home without any income.

Life was consistently tough, with constant uncertainty about where their next meal would come from. Getting enough food was a daily worry.

A church friend noticed Zainab's difficult circumstances and introduced her to Mama Ibado Charity (MIC). After a three-month waiting period, Zainab was accepted into the program. She now receives essential food items such as flour, rice, sugar, and cooking oil.

These provisions significantly help reduce her stress.

In Zainab's words, "Her help is good because I get flour, rice, sugar, oil, and tea leaves."

The support from Mama Ibado has given her a sense of stability and security. Zainab is deeply grateful for Mama Ibado's assistance and prays that God will continue to bless and sustain her work.

Despite the valuable help she receives from Mama Ibado, Zainab still faces economic challenges. Continued support is essential to ensure she can live her life with dignity and security.
